In light of the urgent threats to California’s kelp forests and the recent catastrophic loss of kelp forests along the North Coast, The Nature Conservancy is launching an initiative to protect, restore and secure the health and resilience of California’s kelp forests. We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial and experienced leader to launch and shape this work and oversee all aspects of this initiative, working directly with the California Oceans Program Director. Our goal is to transform California into a global leader in kelp science and conservation, creating replicable solutions that can help address global threats to kelp ecosystems. This position is a huge opportunity to do something truly innovative in the realm of ocean conservation on a team that has a proven track record of building new, high-impact and scalable solutions.
