The Center for Corrosion and Biofouling Control at the Florida Institute of Technology is looking to a hire a postdoctoral fellow to assist with new and on-going biofouling research. A successful candidate will have a PhD in ocean engineering, oceanography, applied ocean sciences, or a similar field The post doc will report to Dr. Geoffrey Swain and Dr. Kelli Hunsucker. They will be responsible for overseeing two biofouling test sites, designing and implementing field experiments, as well as preparing reports and manuscripts. A successful candidate will be comfortable trailering and driving small boats, have experience with rope work and hand tools, and be willing to work in Florida Tech’s machine shop to fabricate test modules and parts. Start date is flexible, but would ideally begin in May/June 2020. The position will run for one year, with the option to renew for a second and third year. A US citizenship is required.
