PLoS ONE has published the open access title, Assessment of Habitat Representation across a Network of Marine Protected Areas with Implications for the Spatial Design of Monitoring. The authors examined if the California MPA network effectively conserved various seafloor habitats. While many features were protected, others were not included in park boundaries.
