Learning objective: To provide students with an appreciation of the scientific basis underpinning the management of coastal land and water resources and to enable those successfully completing the course to operate at a professional level in the emerging field of marine governance, planning and management.
Structure and content: Part-time distance learning course whereby students undertake one module per semester. Students complete four modules for the Diploma, at which point they can choose to continue with a dissertation leading the MSc award. Modules include the management of marine and coastal zones, marine spatial management and research skills.
Target audience: Graduates interested in deepening their skills and qualifications in this area, also professionals in the field seeking to improve their knowledge and gain further recognition for their skills.
